Hi, despite what I believe all of it working (i set it to start oculus when service thing starts) it still has the message and doesnt let me set it up, how would I fix this, am I not understanding or has the feature been removed?

Yea, it looks old but that doesn't mean it won't work. =) But this all depends on how the Oculus software identifies the GPU, it might go about things differently. But if you're feeling adventures then go ahead and try that, would be really cool to know if it works. I would make some form of backup first as the PC might end up not booting. Safe Mode usually takes care of all that and you can revert, but just in case.
If you have an nVidia card today, then the entry for a RTX 3080 is:
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_2206&SUBSYS_403F1458&REV_A1
Not sure how your PC will behave if add an nVidia card to the list of hardware ids for an AMD card, or vice versa, so if you have an AMD card i would go and find the entry for an AMD card instead.
So as far as i understand it, you want to:
Locate the hardware id for your specific card, so you can find it in the registry, and you do that by going to device manager -> properties on the GPU -> Details tab, and then Hardware ID's in the dropdown. Note the id's (you can select all and copy), then head over to the registry editor -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\PCI\ and in here you should find the part that starts with VEN. There might be a few so double-check. Expand it and then left click the "folder" directly under. In the right window, double-click "HardwareID" and you should see a list that match that of the list you saw in Device manager. Here, they suggest you add the new entry to the top of the list.
Cheers!
@Well Silver I never actually had any feature for bypassing the GPU check. There is an option for bypassing the CPU check though, perhaps that is what you are thinking about? Unfortunately Oculus does have some restrictions regarding the type of GPU, so it might just be that yours is indeed not supported. You can check the below articles for compatibility for Rift S as well as for Link with the Quest. At this time i do not know of a way to spoof the GPU ID as that is built into the GPU itself. If your card is supported but still does not work, let me know and perhaps we can figure it out together.
