Microsoft just released two update patches to my machine today which are now causing the OTT software to crash. Those updates are as follows: 2022-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5018410) 2021-10 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64 (KB5018545)
The issue I am having are multi fold now. The program no longer auto starts as it did before the patches. Additionally I can no longer check “Start with Windows” as it gives me an error message that it has to start in Administrator mode, which the exe is already set to do.
Lastly when I go to the Game settings to review my settings for DCS I get the attached exception error. Clicking the continue only freezes the program.
I believe it might be the latest .NET framework update that was pushed. Unfortunately Windows being in its bright wisdom won't let me uninstall those updates.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
The problem was caused by a corrupt user.config file. Deleting the C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\ApollyonVR folder solved the issue. This makes OTT created a new default config file.
